You Had Me At..... A Stitch!

It's that time of year again, too warm for winter coats, too nippy for summer dresses... what is a girl to do? Keep the summer dress, slip back on the opaques and acknowledge Autumn and accessorise with wool. Chunky cowls, oversized pom poms, shimmering lurex yarns, evening splendour....this fall's knits have a lot on offer. What will your favourite be?

More fashion than function, I love this autumnal take on maritime fashion! Yokoo's Etsy shop has a lot of wooly lovelies on offer but this two-tone chain linked scarf is definitely my favourite.

Yarn Over Movement specialises in vintage inspired hand knits. Chunky yarns, retro colour stories and great styling, this shop is definitely worth a peek.

If you can't get him in a tie maybe you can ease him in with a knitted one! Dolly Knits is an English label offering contemporary knits, especially this coffee holder below... the ultimate "I'm just on my way to the office" accessory!

Louise Wahlgreen's fine knits are as feminine and delicate as they are striking and unique. She knits them all from her Danish studio on fine knit industrial machines.  With collections available in Copenhagen and Paris, Louise is definitely one to watch.

And voila! Meet my favourite Irish knitwear designer Tim Ryan. I managed to hunt down a few snaps of his knitted wonders to share with you today. I love how Tim treats knit as glamorous eveningwear.  He has a natural talent for combining different textures, textures which he has often created from his expanse array of technical knowledge.
